Fractions are being used in alout of everyday lives. For example if I was saving up for something like a car and I had three thousand of the ten grand I needed I can say I have one third saved up so far. I also agree with Billy's statement about pizza or if theirs any other food you needed to distribute among others you can give each person one third or one fourth of the food.

Billy

When I eat pizza, I can notice the fractions of the pizza, which is normally cut by 6 or 8 pieces, that is the fraction. The fraction can be mostly found in the math class. It is very useful for changing the long decimals to a simple fraction. If you want to be a math teacher in the school, you will definitely learn about the fractions. Now that is the real world of learning and teaching for your future. Anyway, it also exists in the scientist’s brain and their works. For example, Albert Einstein used lots and lots of fractions to prove something, and his work still exists in the world. I’m almost absolutely sure that there are more fractions exist in the real world than we could possibly imagine.

Probability is a huge part of our life's. Some peoples life's are run by probability. Like things as lotteries or betting Their whole life sometimes depends on probability. Or even just calling a flip on a coin. Some sports games are started by the flip of a coin. Sometimes new parents will paint their nursery because of an untersound or just guessing. There are so many things that happen because of probability that we don't even realize.

CHELS.

In my opinion, probability is a larger part of our lives than we realize. It's not necessarily by choice, but it just happens. I think it's one of those things that we don't ever think about, so we decide that we never have anything to do with it. I don't really like learning about probability in math.. I kind of think it's boring. Oh well. It comes around almost every year, so I guess I should just get used to it.. Haha.

I honestly also think that I will not use probability that much in my life. I can't even think of a time I have really thought about the probability of somthing so far in my life. But thier are such things that you could use it for like the probability of getting a new car or an old car. Also the probability of how much money I will be making in ten or so years.

Christina

I think that probability can come up with a lot of things. Even though you shouldn't always do this but wining at the lottery or when you go to a casino its always chance. There are other ways like when a woman is pregnant and she's waiting to hear if its a girl or a boy she's probably thinking the chances it could be a boy or a girl. In my life it would be the probability of getting into an accident. when I'm playing a game the probability i might win, but as i grow up i think there will be more ways of probability in my life.

Math Question

The only time in my life I think about probability is when I play games with cards or dice. I usually don't think about it when I use it, but it's good there is sutch thing, like when you find the odds of winning the lotorry, and other things like that.

Sam

I don't think that i will ever use probability much in my life . I think that probability is very easy. I don't like how in our text book we sometimes learn skills that i dont think that we will use much in life, like probability. Ithink that we should foucus on the fundamentals. That is my feelings about probability.

Lanna

Like almost everyone said, I don't think probability is very important in my life right now and I doubt I've used it a lot. I like it because it's really easy, but I don't really use it at all except for games and I'm not even thinking about anything related to probability then! There must be some things in life that I'll need it for, but I can't really tthink of any right now.
I think in my life the only time i use probability is when im playing games ( which is usually in math). I dont really use it outside of math... I actually dont know how you would use probabilty in any other way... Probability can be challening in math but not really. I find it fun to do games like we did the other day!! Seeing other peoples idea's. We should do it again for sure!!!

Miranda- How has probability been involved in my Life?

Probability is not a huge part of my life. In fact I don’t think I use it at all really. I don’t think probability has been involved in my life very much so far! I do not remember learning about probability before so the only time i really have used it is, in board games and card games. I used to play board games quite a bit, but I am not as fond of them now. Well, maybe I use it in some stuff, but I don’t remember using probability recently. Except in math class, and that’s not by choice.

Emerson.

The only time I can think of probability being useful is when I play board games (like Billy said). I think this probability is just another thing someone wants us to learn in math. I honestly don't see it for any good. Other than it's easy to get one hundred percent in probability. It's stinking easy! Unless I get a career in the lottery business or something that uses probability; I don't think I'll be using it very often. But that's just at this point.

probibility has been involved in my life because i need to see into the future to see variables that are likely. like if i wanted to go to college i would have to see into the future to see the classes and subjects i would like to take and the carreer i will succeed and progress in.

Billy (Second Blog)

It hasn't really effected or been an important part of my life yet. But I sometimes play monopoly with my friends, and I think it is the one of the probability board game. If I grow up and do the lottoes, that would probably be involved in my life because there are some chances to lose such an amount of money or get lots of money. There is my Answer...

I dislike math it is frustrating t one even though i know it is very important in life it is very hard to me and it is a very strenuous task. i think a way to make math more fun is that if we did more hands on activities to understand things more or to teach the lesson. I don't know if i will start liking math but i think i would understand it more if we did that.

Lanna

I like math sometimes. Some times it just makes me want to scream and other days I find it a lot of fun. I really like timesing. I don't now why but I find it lots of fun, even timesing more than 2 digit numbers. I like doing the those 5 minute mental math too (Will we be doing more than just adding?). I really HATE problem solving. Unless they're really easy and I can get them right away. Sometimes I just can't get myself to concentrate and I end up with a headache, or there's way to much math that needs to be done. I think that I'd say that I like math...most of the times :P. I hope this year is a good year and I learn lots. I also hope I won't go home with lots of homework all the time or headaches.

TYSON

I myself find math a pretty good subject. It's not my favourite subject but I like it more then most of the other subjects. I like how math is straight foward, their is only one answer that is right and the rest is wrong but that is also a bad thing because I get confused on some questions and it drives me crazy sometimes. I like the idea of the minute madness thing (I forget what it's called) because it gets me focused and ready for the lesson. I'm a little nervous for this year's math but i'm sure it will be great.

some days i like math and some days i just want to not do it. i enjoy the geometry units and measurement and integers. they are fun to work on and sometimes a challenge, but i like to do them anyway. some things i don't enjoy- problem solving, some division and multiplication. i used to hate math lots and stuff a few years ago, but i kind of enjoy it now. that is basically what i think about math.

Miranda

Math is really not my favourite subject! In fact if you don’t mind me saying, I hate it. I am not very good at it! I think that is why I don’t like it. I don’t think math is dumb, even though I say that a lot, I think it is very important and a good skill to have! This year I am assuming math will go well. So far I have not struggled too much but we are only on the second week of school. This year I plan to work hard in math and have a positive attitude in it.
Math...Well lets just say its not my strong point. Math has almost always been a challenge for me. So naturally I don't really look forward math. But I am going to try my best. I like how we do the mental math challenges every morning. It is good to keep us sharp. I guess we will see how the year goes on.

CHELS.

Personally, I enjoy math. I like the number part, but I don't think I'm a fan of the blogging part. Maybe it will grow on me. ;) I like that math is black and white. It either works or it doesn't. I'm glad we're doing the mental math problem things every morning. I like the challenge and also that it keeps those skills fresh.. I would like it if the grade nines should prep for grade ten this year too. Looking forward to a good year!!
Math has never been my favorite subject.I dont think i will enjoy it.One of the main things that i do not like about math about is all the steps that seem pointless.another reason is that if you get one step wrong you get the whole thing wrong.that makes math a lot more grueling then it acully is.however i am still going to do my best.
Most of the time I enjoy math, unless I am really struggling with something and just can't seem to get anything right. I guess I could say that I am a little nervous for this years math curricular just because well, its going to be more challenging, like it gets every year. But I know I have to do my best because... well it's critical for my career. Too bad! ahhahaa jk! Yeah.. thats pretty much it.

I do not reallylike like math, but I know mathimatics is an important skill.I like graphing I find that graphing is easy. Iam not very good at multiplication and I would like to get better during the year.I also like the multiplication charts we do as a class.Math is my least favorite subject. Those are my felings about math.
Honestly i really dont like math! its not my favorite subject at all! I probably can learn to like it but it will take time... I am capable of doing the questions and figuring it all out but some times i need help! :) When it comes to tests and quizzes I dont mind them but like i said not the greatest at them! I hope Mr.McKague will make me love math... I love it when i actually get something and do it right that make me feel proud!! But im pretty sure Math wont be that horrible because i know i have people to help if i get stuck!!

math (my opinion)

Truthfully i do not really like math but as i have been learning through this past week i have realized i do not mind it. I know it is very important for any career. Latley supriseingly i have been enjoying doing graphing. One thing i am very thankful of is getting the sheets with all the present and future assighnment because i am a very neat and tidy person (sometimes)also because it allows us to always have work so we do not waste time.

I think of grade 8’s math would be probably easy for me because I learned it already in Korea, but also it will be an advantage for me because it is all English. In Korea, it is important to do the math, but in these days, we, the Koreans, have to learn it with another totally different language. Personally, I love math even though it is very hard and sometimes complicated. I’ve been to the CVCS last year and I was in grade 7. It was really easy year for me but as I go to grade 8 now, I feel like I’m being challenged. Well, I’m really pleased to be in your class and I hope that you will teach me well!

Emerson

I have mixed feelings about math. I like it but I don't like it. I like it when the work is challenging and it's not endless pages of long division equations just waiting to be solved. But when the questions are problems that have different parts and are fun but challenging I really like it! Like I said, I don't like it when it's boring. So I'm sort of looking forward to this year in math but I'm hoping Mr. McKauge doesn't like to use math as something to bore his students with.... I hope math class will be fun and challenging too!
